Please take a moment to read our full terms and conditions here.
ARTWORK THEME – MENTAL HEALTH (Music and Anti Bullying)
We are asking artists to think about the subject of mental health whilst examining the role of music in relation to our wellbeing. The exhibition will also look at bullying and explore ideas of how to combat the growing problem. All pieces submitted should be related to this theme. We welcome any interpretation of the subject. The event will take place on the 5th October 2019 for 1 day.
All mediums allowed
Paintings – acrylic, water colour, oil and spray paint
Illustrations – ink pen, felt
Sculpture – any medium
Sketch and drawing – pencil, charcoal, pastel
Photography – signed by the photographer
* 1 Off Prints – also allowed
(We cannot incorporate film installations for this event)
ALL ARTWORK MUST BE READY TO HANG
(if your artwork is not ready to hang it may result in being rejected on the day)
Recommended maximum size dimensions for wall art:
Max width: 55 cm
Max height: 55 cm
Max weight: 50 kg
Size restrictions are in place so we can try and offer wall space to as many artists as possible. Please note these are guidelines, larger pieces will be considered if we are able to accommodate them.
If you have any larger pieces that you wish to submit, please contact us first so we can discuss and assess if we have available wall space.
Maximum size dimensions for sculptures:
There is no set maximum size or weight for sculpture, however we may contact you if work is especially large and heavy to discuss appropriate display requirements. If you can provide your own plinth this would be a huge help.
NOTIFICATION OF PARTICIPATION
There will be a screening process in place to determine which artworks will be displayed. The screening process is based on how many works of art we can fit in and also which works relate to the theme of the event.
The artists chosen pieces that will be displayed at the exhibition will be notified by email. Artwork must be handed in by the artist during set dates in October which will be confirmed by email. If you are unable to hand in your artwork it must be sent by post or courier – details of where and when to send will be emailed to exhibiting artists.
Please price your artwork reasonably as the event and art sales are intended to raise money for charity and have to be affordable to the general public – we recommend between £20 and £300 for each artwork but this is up to the individual artists. From previous events we have noted that a lot of artworks priced at £100 or lower sell very quickly.
THE SUBMISSION FEE
The fee goes towards helping pay for the venue and running costs of the exhibition also the marketing that we will be putting in to promote your work. We recommend you incorporate the cost into the price of your artwork so the fee is covered.
